The California Department of Fish and Wildlife would like to announce a new outreach and education tool for California’s marine protected areas (MPAs). Each MPA now has its own “MPA Overview” sheet, which succinctly summarizes site-specific information including key habitats, maps, regulations, MPA goals and objectives, and related links (see example). The double-sided MPA Overview sheets provide a snapshot of each MPA and are a great resource for quickly “getting to know an MPA,” accessing regulations, and developing partner outreach products. MPA Overview sheets are available for viewing and printing on CDFW’s Outreach Materials web page. Select the section of the California coast you’re interested in, and then click on the name of an MPA to access it’s overview sheet. Go ahead and take a look!
