What did 2021 look like for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s (CDFW’s) Marine Region? Where can you go to catch some tasty California ocean fish if you don’t have a recreational fishing license? Try one of the many free fishing piers, jetties, or breakwaters along the coast, where you can wet your line for fish such as perch, greenling, rockfish, and bass. Nominations Sought for California Dungeness Crab Fishing Gear Working Group

The California Dungeness Crab Fishing Gear Working Group is seeking nominations for representatives to serve on the Working Group, beginning March 2022. Nominees would represent the commercial fishing sector for the San Francisco Bay area (Fishing Zone 3) and Fort Bragg area (Fishing Zone 2). Now Available! Key Themes Summary from 2021 MPA Community Meetings

The meetings were held both to inform California’s ocean community about the upcoming Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) Decadal Management Review, and to receive public input on the process.
